The Federal Aviation Administration has announced $20 million in funding to modernize air traffic control towers at 20 regional airports across 15 states. These upgrades, made possible through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, are designed to improve safety, efficiency, and capacity at smaller airports that are vital for commercial passenger flights, cargo operations, emergency services, and flight training.

This latest investment aims to replace outdated infrastructure and enhance operations at airports such as Castle Airport in California, Grand Junction Regional Airport in Colorado, and Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Connecticut, among others. The funding will support critical upgrades, including new communication systems, modernized HVAC units, and energy-efficient windows and roofing. These improvements not only enhance safety and security but also create opportunities for entrepreneurs to meet increased demand for transporting materials and supplies to these modernization projects.
